Contemporary publishing is the crux of Ketab Kadeh. At the heart of our shop is its evolving public canvas, where visitors are invited to leave behind an anecdote of their time spent in the space. Ink, thread, pigment, or otherwise, all is welcomed. A reading cove welcomes quiet reflection with books from the free library shelf, whilst hand-selected titles shift with the seasons of the city.Ketab Kadeh hosts a programme of monthly community events centred on topics that best reflect the sentiments of our patrons. Regular gatherings include publication launches, storytelling circles, writing workshops, readings for children, young people, and adults, collaborative art-making, and seasonal communal gatherings for artistic expression. Our space hosts book signings, readings, and performances, to celebrate the launch of new titles. We also host in-store exhibitions, installations, and window displays, by working wtih contemporary artists across all forms of printed matter, traditional and conventional. We showcase contemporary publishinging alongside rare, archival, and self-produced material.Guest residences for writers, artists, and aspirants are also offered on a quarterly basis. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the intake is announces in the consequent chapter.Experimental publications and editions are commissioned through Ketab Kadeh's in-house press, Khane-ye Nashri. Projects can include personal writings, vinyls, stationery, textiles, and so on, so forth.In-house zines and newsletters are published through Khane-ye Ashiyane, featuring writings, illustrations, and musings from visitors, community collaborators, and resident artists and writers alike. Submssions are welcome on a rolling basis, feel free to submit digitally or in person.Ketab Kadeh is a gentle pursuit against forgetting. More of a sit-in than a rally, but it's rooted. This is a place where you can lay your stories to rest. This is a home to come to, even if you weren't searching for one.

quartlery zine
Khane (lit. house) -ye (of) Ashiyane (lit. nest)
Khane-ye Ashiyane is a quarterly published zine. A hand-bound collection of voices, thoughts, and dialogues from within and around our nest. This is a reflection of our space: thoughtful, slightly scrappy, grounded in curiosity, and alive.
Submissions are welcomed year-round, welcomed in person and through our submission channel. Each issue is printed through Khane-ye Nashri, our in-house press. The publication may be risographed, photocopied, hand-stitched, or uniquely folded, depending on the mood of the moment and the materials at hand. No two issues are quite alike.
- KHANE-YE NASHRI -
in-house press
Khane (lit. house) -ye (of) Nashri (lit. publication)

Khane-ye Nashri is the independent publishing wing of Ketab Kadeh, a quiet yet determined press devoted to slow publishing, collective authorship, and handmade editions. Rooted in the belief that stories deserve time, breath, and room to come into themselves, our press exists to nurture emerging and unclassifiable voices, both, across a variety of genres and forms. From chapbooks to novels, to personal essays and field manuals, we approach each project with care and curiosity. We work closely with artists, writers, readers, and patrons to shape publications that feel alive in your hands. Our editions are printed in limited numbers, typically bound by hand in our backroom studio. Our process draws from community contributions, shared margins, and personal encounters, enabling us to create work that speaks to the gentle, layered nature of lived experience. Each publication by the press reflects the living, breathing energy of Ketab Kadeh, and those that pass through it.In addition to publishing the in-house zine Khane-ye Ashiyane, we also collaborate with workshop participants, resident artists, and local communities to co-create special editions. These may include experimental poetry collections, illustrated stories, reprinted folk stories, or quiet documentations of the everyday. We see publishing as an invitation to hold something in your hands, and feel it speak to you, warming.
